Understanding Bhakoot Dosh: What Does This Dosh Imply?

As per Vedic astrology, Bhakoot Dosh is a term used to describe the bad combination of Nakshatras or stars in a girl and boy horoscope who plan to get married. It is also called Bhakut Koota or Bhakut in a few parts of India. This Dosh occurs when the bride and the groom's birth stars are incompatible with each other. Vedic astrology states that every Nakshatra has a certain characteristic or energy. When two incompatible stars or Nakshatras combine, it can lead to misunderstandings, conflicts and various marital problems. Read on to learn all about this Dosh and what it signifies.

What Is Bhakoot Dosh?

It is one of the most severe forms of Dosh and can greatly affect the marriage if not remedied and may even lead to divorce. However, it is essential to note that there are a few combinations of Nakshatras that are negative and the severity of it depends on planet placements, nakshatra strengths and various other conditions.

So Bhakoot Dosh is one of the major factors to consider when finding the compatibility of a bride and groom in the horoscope. According to Vedic astrology, there are 27 Nakshatras and each is associated with a particular characteristic or energy. To determine whether there is Bhakoot Dosh or not, the bride and the groom Nakshatra have to be compared with each other. If the partners Nakshatra belong to the same group or Nadi, it is called Bhakoot Dosh. There are three Nadi groups Adi Nadi, Madhya Nadi and Antya Nadi. If the groom and the bride have the same Nadi then it is said as per astrology that there can be marital problems.

The severity of this Dosh is dependent on the Kootas or number of points that match between the horoscopes. Each Koota has certain points and the total points are used to determine the compatibility between the girl and the boy. Bhakoot Dosh is severed when zero points are scored in this Koota.

Bhakoot Dosha Cancellation During Match Making

As per astrology, horoscope matching plays an important role before marriage so that you can get to know the compatibility. There are some specific circumstances where Doshas get cancelled in horoscopes. This process is called Guna Milan and depends on eight aspects with each determined by different points. There are 36 points that have to be matched for marriage and a score of over 20 is needed for good marriage.

If the Guna has a score of 1 and Varna is not identical this may lead to Dosh in horoscope. This may get nullified or cancelled under the given circumstances.

If the couple’s moon sign ruler is the same or is below the same planet.

The ruler of the couple’s Navamsha may be mutual friends or are on the same planet.

The male Varna is superior to the female Varna.

If the score of Guna is 2 points then there will be minor dosh if Varna does not match.

The Moon sign of both partners has the same planet ruling.

The Navamsha ruler of both has friendly stars or common planets.

The Bhakoot Dosh is set to end when the Yoni is matched.

The Tara and the Yoni calculations with 3 or 4 points also cancel out the Bhakoot Dosh.

As per astrology, there can be serious consequences in marital life because of Bhakoot Dosh. It can create problems in marital life like infertility, separation or even death. Financial issues may also happen for those who suffer from this Dosh. A person may also have instability in life, financial losses and loss of instability among partners.
